(why we)
Take a Break for Black Friday
For the last seven years, we’ve been closing our stores and website on Black Friday, and we’re doing the same today.
As a small company dedicated to slow fashion and a circular economy, we’ve never been comfortable with the pressure to sell as much as possible, as fast as possible. For us, Black Friday is too closely associated with the overconsumption that’s straining our planet and generating mountains of textile waste around the world.
So in keeping with ANIÁN tradition, we’re giving our staff an extra day off to spend time with friends or family, get out into nature, or just take a well-earned break before the holiday season. As we navigate the changing currents of the apparel industry, it’s also a chance for us to step back and refocus on why we started ANIÁN in the first place.
We’ll be back on Saturday—see you then.
