The Golden Melton
In ancient legend, the greatest quest of all was the search for the Golden Fleece. Our own quest—to make beautiful, long-lasting garments from recycled textiles—is simpler and less perilous. But every few years, we release a rare, limited-run edition of our Modern Melton in a gilded tone that reminds us of the importance of our work. Our most durable women’s shirt, the naturally weather-resistant Golden Melton is made from warm, densely woven recycled wool and has a tailored fit with a drop-in chest pocket, single-button cuffs, and a longer scooped hem that falls below the seat. With no added dyes, the material takes its unique golden patina from the source garments used in its creation, resulting in an exclusive colourway that hasn’t existed in previous editions and will not be replicated again.

Our Modern Melton is cut like a tailored shirt, with narrower patterning through the shoulders and torso and more space through the hip; there’s also a bit of extra room in the arms for layering. To wear as an overcoat, we suggest moving up one size. For further details, see our sizing chart.
Tightly woven wool has microbial and stain-resistant properties. Shirt only needs to be washed once a year (if that). Wash in cold water and hang to dry. To reduce energy and water use, we recommend washing only when necessary. Less washing also gives your garments a longer life.
