The Northern Flannel
Not to be confused with plaid—a pattern, not material—flannel dates back to the 17th century, with its origins firmly rooted in Wales. Here it was produced for garments distributed to local farmers to guard against the country’s cold, wet, and windy climate. Appreciated for its durability but loved for its softness, the flannel shirt has been a longtime benchmark of warmth, from simply keeping the chill of winter at bay to seeing soldiers through the World Wars. Our formal fit Northern Flannel is one soft shirt that’ll work hard to keep you warm.
Made in a slim, tailored fit, our flannel is snug through the arms and chest. As it is made from 100% natural fibres, there isn’t any real stretch in the fabric. For this reason, we recommend going up a size from your normal dress shirt choice for a more comfortable fit.
