It’s hard to believe that we’re writing another year in review. 2025 seemed to fly by here at ANIÁN, but as we head into January, we wanted to share some of our highlights from the past 12 months—and some of what you’ll be seeing from us in the New Year that lies ahead.
A dozen years into the ANIÁN journey, our work to bring circularity to the apparel business kept rolling along. For us, the biggest milestone was passing a million pounds of textile waste that we’ve now salvaged and recycled into durable new clothes and accessories.

While a significant amount of that material was used to make tried-and-true styles like Meltons, Field Coats and Loft Coats, we were proud to broaden our range of recycled and organic garments—bringing fleece full circle with high-pile Pecora Wools, milling and sewing our first denims, and finding creative ways to reuse cast-away fabric with our Sail Totes, retail store bag handles and sturdy Bolt-End Overalls for outdoor chores. Another full-circle highlight was road tripping through the mountains to open our Calgary store—the first ANIÁN location in Alberta, where our founder Paul Long grew up before moving west to chase waves a few decades back.

Behind the scenes, our fantastic staff worked hard to support our mission by moving to a larger and more efficient warehouse, expanding our Canadian manufacturing to Ontario and Quebec, and sourcing new paper garment bags to complement the grain sacks we’ve been using for years. And with products that supported the work of the Pacific Salmon Foundation and BC Parks Foundation, as well as other non-profit alliances, we were able to use our business to help take care of the wild lands and waters we love so much.

As always, we couldn’t have done any of it without you, and we’re truly and incredibly grateful. But with 2025 in the rearview, we’re focused on what’s coming for 2026—including new workwear made from recycled canvas, more Pecoras by popular demand, and warmer outerwear for the coldest Canadian weather.

We'll also be bringing back free community events at our stores, carrying on the tradition of the post-surf parties we used to throw on Discovery Street back in the day when our story got started.
As we close out the year, we want to thank you again for all your support and inspiration as we continue to work together to transform the garment industry in Canada and beyond. We love what we do—but even more so, we love the community we’re so fortunate to travel with along the way.
Onward!
Your friends at ANIÁN
