Offering a looser fit of our most iconic shirt, the Relaxed Modern Melton Wool pairs the natural warmth of post-consumer recycled Melton with a roomier, slightly oversized silhouette. Originally woven for cold-weather mariners, Melton is sturdy, comfortable and weather-resistant, with a felt-like feel that’s smoother and denser than other wools. We make our version in a unique, dye-free blend that saves water and eliminates the need for harmful chemical dyes, and we’ve given this new design the same classic look as its closer-fitting cousin—a drop-in chest pocket, two-tone buttons and single-button cuffs, but with a wider scalloped hem and hidden side-seam pockets to hold your essentials when you’re wearing it as an outer layer. A double yoke rests comfortably across the shoulders, and an inset center-back pleat allows more freedom of motion for days on the go. Whether you’re out adventuring on the coast or whisking through weekday errands in the city, it’s truly the one shirt that works for every occasion.

Melton wool has microbial and stain-resistant properties, and may only need to be washed once a year, if that. Wash in cold water and hang to dry. To reduce energy and water use, we recommend washing only when necessary; less washing also gives your garments a longer life.
